What are Tidal Wave Cubensis Mushrooms?
The Tidal Wave cubensis is a hybrid of B+ strains and Penis Envy. It’s a fast-fruiting strain, which means it produces fruiting bodies (mushrooms) quickly. It’s also potent.
At the 2021 Psilocybin Cup, a Tidal Wave magic mushroom took home the top prize. Cultivated by Magic Myco Farm, this “Tidal Wave 2” strain was the only one with a higher psilocybin and tryptamine content than Penis Envy.
What Do Tidal Wave Mushrooms Look Like?
Tidal Wave mushrooms have thick white stems and tight gills, which they get from their Penis Envy genetics. Their elegant dark gold caps come from their B+ parentage.
Why are they Called Tidal Wave?
The Tidal Wave name seemingly stems from the effects, which come on like “tidal waves”. A few users have confirmed this, but truth be told, there isn’t too much of a difference from one strain to the next. They all contain the same psychedelic compounds, so the effects likely have more to do with dose, mindset, and environment than anything else.
Then again, many experienced users would argue otherwise and insist that the effects can be drastically different from one strain to the next, even after potency has been accounted for.
Growing Tidal Wave Mushrooms
You can find Tidal Wave spores and mushroom kits online. These have become fairly common following the strain’s success at the Psilocybin Cup.
A mushroom kit contains everything you need to grow Tidal Wave, including a sterilized substrate in which the mushroom spores grow. Rye grain is often used as a Tidal Wave substrate, with the spores then moved to a humid environment.
That’s pretty much all you need to do to grow Tidal Wave. Just leave them for two or three weeks and you’ll see the fruiting bodies appear. When they’re ready to harvest, just collect them, dry them, and store/use them as needed.
Dosages for Tidal Wave Magic Mushrooms
The Tidal Wave strain has an above-average psilocybin content, so it needs to be treated with respect. The high has been described as being much lighter and more manageable than its psilocybin content suggests, but this is still not the best strain for inexperienced trippers.
Your weight, tolerance, physiology, and mindset will determine what kind of experience you have on Tidal Wave mushrooms. Once you have a few experiences under your belt, you’ll get a feel for how these mushrooms affect you and will discover the right dose. But even then, the effects can differ from one experience to the next.

Of course, potency can vary from batch to batch, but some of these contradicting reviews were posted at similar times on the same product pages, suggesting they were from the same batch.
